Committee of Management 2008 - 2009
The Committee of Management meets on a monthly basis and comprises the maximum of nine members. Generally, the Committee of Management has an administration and policy-making role. The Committee is accountable to financial members of the Centre, to bodies from which the organisation receives funding, and to the community in which the Centre operates.
CHAIRMAN ― John Tame
John joined the committee in 1993. He has held management positions in both the finance and credit union industries and was CEO of a disability service for 11 years He has served on various not-for-profit committees and is a past president and a current member of the Rotary Club of Frankston North. John was appointed a Justice of the Peace in 1990.
VICE-CHAIRPERSON ― David Triplow APM
David was a previous mayor of the City of Frankston and Chief Superintendent of Victoria Police and an active volunteer in the community. He is currently a retiree who works part-time as required. David has been a committee member since 2000 and is a Charter Member of the Brotherhood of St. Lawrence.
VICE -CHAIRPERSON ― Anthony Glenwright
Anthony is Product Development Manager for a technology company and is responsible for design, planning and management of software products. He has been a member of the committee since 1998.
TREASURER ― Terry Mackay
Terry has been involved at the Centre since 1995 and has been a member of the committee for nine years. Terry’s background is in banking.
SECRETARY ― Stewart Harkness
Stewart has been involved with the Centre since 2003 and joined the Committee in 2005. He has a background in organisational and counselling psychology.
MEMBER ― Joan Fitzpatrick
Joan joined the Committee of Management in 1997. She was formerly a Senior Social Worker at Centrelink for 14 years and was employed by the N.S.W. Department of Family and Community Services for 10 years previously. Joan has degrees in Social Work and Social Science from the University of N.S.W.
MEMBER ― Peter Wearne
Peter is a local solicitor specialising in Immigration matters as well as general litigation. He had a social work and ministry background prior to taking up law in the early 1980s.
MEMBER ― Natsai Mbire
Nat has been involved with the Centre as a volunteer and committee member since 2008. She holds qualifications in Accounting and Marketing from Deakin University.
MEMBER ― Steven Phillips
Steve joined the Centre as a volunteer in 2005 and joined the committee in 2008. Steve has a background in youth work and currently works as part of the Brotherhood of St Lawrence’s Youth Pathways program.
