a way to help your
local community

How we help local residents

Our volunteers focus on providing residents with information, advice and skills so they can be more self-sufficient and contributing members of the community. We can also advocate and assist to negotiate payment with essential service providers on your behalf if you are experiencing problems or the inability to pay.

Last financial year over half of the 12,731 clients who contacted the agency requested emergency relief. The majority of these people were in crisis.

Our clients are local disadvantaged people, often in public housing and increasingly in rooming houses, caravans, emergency accommodation or no fixed address, who are at risk of, or who already have, become homeless.

Enquiries 2013

Over the last 12 months our volunteers worked a total of 13,584 hours, mainly providing local people in crisis with food, addressing their financial issues and assisting with some essential items.

We are an accredited charitable organisation with ATO endorsement as a deductible gift recipient. We rely on donations and the pro bono generosity of our talented volunteers to help us continue providing services to our community.

Services to our clients are confidential so it can be difficult to raise public awareness of how we help and attract sponsorship from local residents, organisations and business. Your support enables us to continue our work.
