Interviewers
To meet the ever-growing needs of our community, Frankston Community Support and Information Centre is looking for volunteers to join their Interviewing Team. If you are interested in your community, like meeting and helping people, and would be willing to undertake training we would like to hear from you. Successful applicants will be required to complete an accredited 50 hour training course (see below).

Details:  The Centre is currently recruiting volunteers to interview local residents who contact the agency, either by phone or in person, for information, support and advice regarding social and emotional problems including counselling, crisis support and community development. Volunteer Interviewers must be understanding of people and their situations and accepting of other individual’s values and lifestyles. They also need to be outgoing with a friendly personality and have good communication, problem solving and listening skills.

COMPETENCY CHCCS6B: Assess and deliver services to clients with complex needs This accredited Community Worker training for Interviewers course must be completed if working in an interview situation with a client. Volunteers are taught skills in interviewing, communication, providing information and basic counselling. Low cost training is available to selected interviewers.

After completing this course volunteers are required to attend ongoing training to update and improve their skills and keep them informed of current issues. Many of the Centre’s volunteer workers progress to further education and employment in welfare and other fields.

Statistics Database Entry
More volunteers are needed to join a team working one shift per week entering the Centre's monthly statistic figures into a database.

Details:  Suitable for a beginner or slow typist as only a small amount of experience typing and keypad data entry is needed. All workers at the Centre are provided with training to successfully carry out their tasks.

Database Entry Information Update
The Centre is looking for volunteers to join teams working one per week shift typing handwritten cards into a database.

Details:  This is an on-going job involving a filing cabinet full of handwritten notes that are gradually being updated to form a user-friendly database. Accurate typing skills and the ability to read other volunteers handwritten notes are essential. All Database team workers at the Centre are provided with training.
